In the japanese Pangya fan site I have mentioned in another thread I have found a post about the World Cyber Games 2006 fair in Monza, Italy. A Pangya tournament was held during the fair:

According to the fan page, a WCG2006 Aztec was on sale for a limited time. "Additionally, four members of the Japanese national team for WCG 2006 have arrived in Italy and completed their player registration. The opening ceremony will take place after this, and then it really feels like the decisive battle is about to begin. "

The tournament’s qualification selection dates:
“Meanwhile, in the Pangya tournament, a domestic demonstration sport, Korean players continued their strong performance, with Lim Je-heum defeating Kim Seok-joong to claim both the gold and silver medals. The bronze medal went to Japan’s Naoto Chiba.”
Only some photos of the event have been preserved by archive.org, while others are only available as thumbnails. I’m posting the images here for preservation.
